Water Mates Swimming Academy brings national-level competitive experience into a structured and accessible learning environment. It was founded in 2019 by former Malaysian national swimmer and record holder Tern Jian Han, who represented Malaysia at events including the Commonwealth Games, Southeast Asian Games and FINA Swimming World Cup. His competitive experience forms the foundation of the academy’s syllabus, which takes learners from water confidence and safety through stroke mastery and competitive development.

The coaching team also includes Head Coach Norman Nyau Wee Yen, whose listed qualifications include ASUM, FINA, ASCA and Malaysian national coaching certifications. Programmes cover toddlers, juniors, adults, stroke correction, lifesaving, competitive swimming and coach training. The academy operates centres in Subang, Kepong, Kota Damansara and Klang, with selected branches offering heated saltwater pools, air-conditioned viewing areas and different pool depths.
